Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB) ( is hiring a full-time Audience Engagement Editor to oversee its digital marketing efforts. LARB's Audience Engagement Editor will develop and implement digital marketing strategy with an eye toward engaging and expanding the publication's audience and reach. This individual will be principally responsible for developing, creating, scheduling, and sharing social media and newsletter content, as well as reporting, analyzing, and directing strategy on performance across platforms. LARB currently has a presence on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, YouTube, and LinkedIn, and publishes several regular newsletters via Mailchimp, but there is the potential to shift the distribution of content across social platforms and/or expand the platforms LARB uses.
LARB is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, data-driven, and creative individual who enjoys working collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment and has a strong grasp of evolving social media and digital marketing platforms. The Audience Engagement Editor should be an effective and agile communicator who is able to track, anticipate, and respond to current trends and conversations, while engaging our broad base of readers and supporters in a timely, engaging, and professional manner. The ideal candidate would be self-directed, bring prior experience in digital marketing and newsletter management, and be passionate about LARB's work and publications. This individual should be adept at navigating the changing landscape of social media platforms, public forums, and newsletter distribution systems.

Overview Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $16.66 / hr to $18.09 / hr, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
