Retail Manager – St. Julian Winery & Distillery – Troy, MI

St. Julian Winery & Distillery, Michigan's oldest, family-owned winery, is seeking a Retail Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Troy tasting room. What You Will Do:

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage day-to-day tasting room operations, fostering a positive, efficient, and team-oriented environment.
  • Drive Sales: Boost sales of wine, tasting room food, and retail products while growing Wine Club memberships.
  • Create Memorable Experiences: Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every guest leaves with a smile.
  • Plan Exciting Events: Organize events for the tasting room, including coordinating musicians and entertainment.
  • Team Development: Hire, train, and mentor an enthusiastic team, ensuring top-notch performance and morale.
  • Operations Management: Oversee inventory, ordering, shipping, and receiving while maintaining a clean and inviting tasting room.
  • Build Relationships: Develop key connections with customers, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Track Success: Take ownership of budgets, reporting, and creating cost-effective campaigns to drive results.

What You Bring:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (college experience is a plus).
  • 5+ years of customer service experience, with retail or restaurant management strongly preferred.
  • At least 2+ years of retail experience.
  • Proven leadership and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • A creative, results-oriented approach to hospitality and event planning.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

  • Superior sales and customer service abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • A 'can-do' attitude with a knack for problem-solving and decision-making.
