Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies. This position is responsible for monitoring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training sessions, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of occupational health standards and demonstrate a commitment to promoting workplace safety.

Role and Responsibilities :

  • Provide safety leadership for the plant location.
  • Manage and execute safety activities in line with plant operations.
  • Enforce OSHA standards, MWP safety policies, and conduct regular plant safety walk-throughs.
  • Perform job site analyses to identify potential hazards and recommend safe work practices/procedures.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead or assist in accident investigations, near-misses, and property damage incidents to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Support injury management and worker’s compensation processes.
  • Conduct safety training, including Forklift Safety, Lock Out/Tag Out, PPE, and Confined Space protocols.
  • Enforce site-specific safety programs.
  • Perform facility/site inspections and generate related reports.
  • Pre-task planning for high-risk work activities.
  • Collaborate with MWP management and engage with leadership to advise on safety program implementation.

Preferred Skills :

  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to positively influence safe behavior.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to be on-site during operational hours; weekend work may be required.

This role is essential for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring that all employees are equipped with the knowledge necessary to uphold safety standards.
