Summary - Safety Coordinator - Concrete Manufacturing Plant
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to oversee health and safety compliance at a prestress concrete manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for developing and managing safety programs, conducting training, leading inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a background in occupational safety and experience in manufacturing or construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support in safety and health compliance for plant and job site personnel.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and training initiatives.
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
Oversee safety inspections and audits, including those requested by clients or regulatory agencies such as OSHA.
Identify and assess safety training needs; develop and conduct safety training sessions for all employees.
Implement hazard controls to reduce safety and occupational health risks.
Assist staff with proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Promote a culture of safety through regular plant inspections, safety meetings, and targeted training programs.
Manage onboarding safety training and documentation for all new hires and site personnel.
Enforce safety policies in alignment with the company’s disciplinary procedures.
Lead incident prevention and response efforts, including reporting, investigation, and corrective action planning.
Report injuries and incidents to leadership, manage workers' compensation claims, and conduct case management for open claims.
Handle environmental reporting tasks, including stormwater testing and air quality reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent education and experience.
Prior experience in manufacturing or construction safety is preferred.
