Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate : Traveler : xx52 on w2 Per-Diem (Weekly ) = 1246/40 Gross weekly xx3326
Shift Type: Days
Shift Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
Weekend/Holiday Work: Holidays required if needed, no weekend shifts
On-Call Requirements: None

Job Responsibilities

The Pathologists' Assistant will be responsible for:

Preparing, gross description, and dissection of surgical pathology specimens
Performing postmortem examinations under the medical direction of pathologists
Ensuring accurate collection and labeling of specimens
Maintaining quality standards and hospital/laboratory compliance
Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations

Candidate Requirements

Certification: PA-ASCP certification (mandatory, equivalent certifications not accepted)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of current Pathology Assistant experience
Key Skills:
- Competency in Frozen Sections, Grossing Biopsies, and Large Complex Specimens
- Knowledge of HIS/LIS systems and assorted laboratory instrumentation
- Strong proficiency in EPIC Beaker EMR (highly preferred)
Education: Master s degree preferred; Bachelor s degree accepted
Other Requirements:
- Traveler must have their own vehicle for work-related travel
- Medical compliance items must be ordered, collected, and resulted within 5 days of offer acceptance
- Local candidates within 50 miles will NOT be considered
