Job Description
Summary
General Merchandise Clerks are first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She will perform shelf stocking, spill clean-up, general housekeeping, and other General Merchandise duties as may be assigned by General Merchandise Manager.
Key Responsibilities
When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest
Follows daily work schedule as assigned by General Merchandise Manager
Performs ordering, stocking and rotation duties in accordance with instruction from the General Merchandise Manager to ensure safety, convenience and value for guests and other team members
Maintains stock levels; keeps shelves full of ad merchandise and items kept in back stock
Ensures quality and consistent product availability and solutions to our guests
Must be attentive at all times to needs of guests and be ready and able to direct/take guest to items in question
Must be attentive to guest flow and be flexible to move from one activity to another quickly as dictated by guests
Performs other duties as requested or required by management
Key Requirements
Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner
Ability to operate all ordering and stocking equipment
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting at a height of 5 feet, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking
Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays
Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
